We have developed a new route that will visit a host of places in Wapping Wharf and the city centre, stopping by to sample bites from some of Bristol's best independents. Due to new Covid restrictions, the tour will be mostly take-away and with more on-the-go tastings. Here is our planned route (which is subject to change) but we wanted to give you a tasty idea of what is in store…
The Bristol Cheesemonger
Ever-changing Harbourside Market traders
… & some tasty surprises along the way!
tBFT will do our utmost to provide a Covid-Safe experience.
If you have Covid symptoms, please protect our team and tour guests and DO NOT attend the tour. Contact us as via email soon as possible to let us know you’re unable to attend.
Your tour guide will wear a visor at all times.
We require tour guests to wear masks unless eating.
We encourage tour guests to bring hand sanitiser and/or wash their hands where possible on the tour.
Food will not be shared. At each of the stop-offs, food will be pre-portioned.
Due to the ever-changing state of things, tours are subject to last minute changes of venues, though the tour route will take place in the same area of the city. We will always work to ensure you have a great experience and sample food from the same number of stop-offs, even if they change.
Again, given the current state of things, tours are subject to last minute cancellations. We hope you will understand should this be the case. If your tour is cancelled at short notice, we will email you and offer three options:
To rebook on a future tour
To receive a voucher to use at a later date (with a six month expiry from the date of your booked tour)
To receive a refund
How much do the tours cost per person and how do I pay?
All of our regularly scheduled tours are £50 per person. You can pay us securely and directly: We provide you with payment information when you enquire to book via email:
In order to guarantee your place on the tour, we require payment in full - our tours sell out quickly!
How long do the tours last?
They usually last around three to four hours.
Do you do special tours?
Keep your eyes peeled on our social media portals and the Contact & Book page as every now and then we organise one off event tours. We are also more than happy to organise a bespoke or private tour with you for a special occasion or corporate event.
Where do we meet and where do we go?
Whichever tour you choose to book on, the meeting place will be revealed via email in the week before your tour. If you have any questions about your tour, just email us.
We like to keep the places we visit a surprise, but you can get an idea of the kind of food available on the tours by following us on Instagram and Twitter, and liking us on Facebook.
Who are your tour guides?
We have a fantastic little team of tour guides who are buzzing to share their expert knowledge and insider info with you.
That's really up to you. If you feel they've led a great tour and you want to tip, they'll graciously accept and they get to keep every penny - they've earned it! Also, if you've enjoyed your tour please take a minute to write a review for us on TripAdvisor - it really helps us spread the word about our tours.
Can you cater to my dietary requirement?
All of our tours are suitable for those who eat meat and those who choose not to, unless you are booking on a themed tour. We can also make arrangements for most dietary requirements. Some are trickier than others, and because we want to ensure that you get the most out of your experience with us, it's important to let us know when you book if you have any restrictions. Just drop us an email if you have a query.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
Your place includes all the food and drink samples offered on the tour. Most of the places we visit provide tap water, but you might want to bring a bottle of your own, if you like.
You also need to bring a face mask with you to wear throughout the tour except when eating, and we would advise bringing hand sanitiser as well.
Sometimes people want to buy extra drinks on the tour - a delicious coffee or a pint from the pub, or even a cocktail if the mood takes you - and all are cool with us and make the places we visit happy too! We might also visit places with shops on the tour so please feel free to browse and buy things if you fancy. This is a long-winded way of saying bring money!
It's worth noting our fair city doesn't always deliver fair weather so if it's looking rainy or cold on the day, do dress appropriately as we will be outside a lot of the time, walking from place to place or sampling food outside an interesting landmark.
Do you cancel tours if the weather is bad?
We run tours come rain or shine, so dress for the day! We have only ever cancelled one tour due to heavy snow as it would have been dangerous to run it. In such extreme cases we would give you as much notice as possible and would happily refund/rebook your place.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
We certainly do! These are £50 each, with a £2.50 postage and packaging fee. They are valid for six months from date of purchase. We also do E-Vouchers which are just £50, to save on P&P.
What if I can't come/Do you do refunds?
We cannot give refunds, and we require you to pay in full to secure your place on the tour as they sell out very quickly. If you're unable to attend for any reason, contact us via email as soon as possible and we'll get back to you. We may be able to reschedule your booking if you let us know no less than 14 days before your booked tour. Email us to enquire.
Do you have a minimum/maximum number of people on the tours?
The minimum group size for a public tour is 4 people. The maximum group size for a public tour is 8 people. We have a few reasons for limiting our tours:
Most importantly, we like to keep the groups relatively small so you all get to have an engaging experience on the tour. We believe we're unique in this way as everyone can relax and chat while tasting delicious food and drink. We find it often feels like we're leaving a group of friends behind at the end of a tour! Logistically, a lot of the places we visit are small or incredibly popular which means a group of 8 (plus a tour guide) takes up quite a lot of space! However, if you'd like to organise a private tour for less than 4 or more than 8 people, just get in touch and we can create something bespoke for you.
Where would you recommend parking?
We'll let you know the meeting point in the week before your tour. All of our tours are in fairly central areas of Bristol. On-street parking is an option, but it can be limited, and you need to be aware of residential parking restrictions. There are multiple large car parks in the centre of Bristol, and good bus and train links. If you are flying into Bristol Airport, we recommend checking out Parkhero! Otherwise, don't hesitate to email us and we will offer suggestions as best we can!
